Holes & Incidents

I first discovered the rock pools at Amroth when I was still at college.
I walked down there with Audrey Barnes.
The varied colours I found astounding.
I still work from them to this day.

Varanasi street life

This picture is total reflection - I tried to get how frenzied the colours were

A truly hectic place full of (life and death!) and minor amazing things. I saw a sadhu pick up a head of garlic and by rubbing it between his fingers for a few seconds, had peeled the whole lot!

The original line drawing made on the spot so to speak. Actually from memory in a hotel room that had beautiful lizards a a view right over the Ganges.

A Return to some work from Turkey

25-05-2019.
At present I'm putting as much of my past work onto a memory card as possible. (64GB) I've come across some stuff that was open to further "embellishment".
On covering as much stuff as I feel like, I will add it to the Istanbul blog as another page.

I made this at the end of my time in Cankurtaran, I don't remember stickling it all together. Although, I do remember branching out and trying out "earthy, but mysterious directions"
On the photographed image, all the edges of the watercolour collage either came out white as the edge of the paper, or with a dark shadow, portraying the actual depth of the lowest layer.
This exercise was about tidying it up and emphasising the different hues and tones.

about telling stories

Rough for the poster.

I like to tell a yarn - maybe its a defence mechanism, maybe its the same as writing a paper, or performing a tune or perhaps even painting.
