Tonights the Night

And it probably was.
I built this out of wattle with an arm in plaster - it made a good clamping device.
Containing a fire, sink and toilet, for my little friends that year

Mache

I love the weather in September!
My plans for Shipping Hill
and also the set of drawings that I could see myself producing for papier mache work in a large workshop.

The germ of the idea.
A fair bit of wood could be used.

Words by Steve Marriot.
I think this is about the simplest and least ambiguous. So I believe I will attempt it today.

A seemingly unavoidable inside a cave image

Another simple, but solid one

Big Day out

The only bit of sculpture I have made this year so far, from some old industrial spindles I found at Shipping Hill.
It is loosely based on an early scene from Achilles Shield

http://umphries.blogspot.co.uk/p/achilles-shield.html
Where all the non combatant residents of a town are left to pretend that they are in fact the defending army.

But is also a follow on from a "Jazz" painting I made in Cardiff c.83.

Bits of wardrobe and a jigsaw

Although it is designed to fit up against a wall, it still awaits a stand.

Pefank

A long weekend with a very old friend of mine, with whom, I learnt to paint in Epsom in 1971.
Three pictures to come out of it and very probably a fair bit more work.

Twilight Thistles.

Work to come - -

Recently found images of a backdrop I made for a Live/Work project in Smethwick, then re-painted in 2008 (approx.) And just recently found stored in a corner of my computer.

"Now" only at Garnsworthies

A brief show that I put together with Julian Pefanis and Tony Wright in the Hall that was about to take our "mock" diploma show.
We arrived at seven, when the college had just opened, armed with our sheets of card pinned them to the boards and disappeared. It had a greater effect than we could have ever hoped for!
